Wild Westfjords focuses exclusively on the Westfjords region of Iceland.

Based in Isafjordur, we operate a variety of day tours across the region, also catering to cruise travellers.
We also offer customised self-drive and private multi-day tours which can be tailored to special interests like hiking, birds and wildlife, culture and cuisine.

Our itineraries are inspired by our love for the Westfjords and a passion to travel. Our strengths lie in our personalised service, which make sure your holiday is all about you; and local expertise, which is essential for providing you an authentic experience of Iceland!

We strive to be flexible so if there is something you are looking for and can’t find it on our website, send us an email and we try our best to make it happen!

OUR STORY

Our founders, Halldor and Preeti, love travelling and helping people discover Iceland, especially the remote and lesser-travelled Westfjords region.

Halldor is a true blue Icelander and grew up in Isafjordur. Preeti first visited Iceland in December 2007 and despite a storm, cancelled flights and the darkness, she returned the following summer and now calls it home.

The idea for Wild Westfjords was born when they planned travels for friends who came for their Icelandic wedding and joined them on a road trip around the country on what was affectionately called “The Honeymoon Express”. They enjoyed the travel planning and showing people the beautiful country and lesser-visited gems so much that they decided to do it for others. The rest is history…

"We only had 5 days in Iceland, and were spending most of the time visiting relatives . My brother & I (along with his wife & daughter) really wanted to go to the small village of Patreksfjordur, where our Mother was born. Haldor went above & beyond, and located a distant relative of ours in Patreksfjordur - Bríet , who agreed to meet with us and fill us in on some of our family history that we were not aware of. Arrangements were seamless from start to finish - such an amazing day...thank you again, Halldór & crew!!!"
