A nature reserve since 1975, Hornstrandir is a great place to see this elusive animal. The hunting ban makes the fox unafraid of humans and the abundant bird life ensures survival.

Hornstrandir is only accessible by boat so we start our tour with a one hour ride which offers spectacular views of the fjords and impressive landscape. Once there, you will take a hike in the surrounding landscape to look for the arctic fox and its cubs. Along the way, your guide will tell you about the fox’s life, behaviour and habitat.

This is a private small group experience, also suitable to photographers. Your guide will teach you to camouflage and maximise your chance of getting great photos.

The arctic fox is a wild animal so we cannot guarantee that you will see them. However, we will try our best and irrespective, it will be a great day out in the nature.

The tour duration varies between 5-8 hours based on the location in Hornstandir, fox activity, speed of the group, the weather & sailing conditions.
