Hesteyri is situated on the gorgeous peninsula of Hornstrandir. Enjoy a picturesque one hour boat ride from Isafjordur to this abandoned village.

The boat stops in Hesteyri for 1.5 hours. There are various different options of what you can do there. You can explore old 19th-century houses and the Whale Station. You can go on a short hike around, you might get lucky to spot a resident fox family that lives there or spend time at the beach and enjoy the views of the fjords from ashore.

The cafe at the Doctor’s House is a lovely quaint place to relax and enjoy freshly baked pancakes and coffee.

Not suitable for guests with limited mobility or wheelchair users, as the tour includes walking on uneven paths.
